Hope you guys like the new look. Be sure and sign the new guestbook. Hopefully, it will be up for a while. I should have some new dates up soon so watch for that as well. This weekend, we’ll be off and I will be recording a few demos of songs that I’ve written. For anyone interested, here’s what happens with those. These will be rough cuts that I distribute to the rest of the band so that they can learn the tunes and add their creative touch to the music. Then, we’ll probably perform a few of them live in the near future. It’s always good for me to listen to what I’ve written in recorded form several times; it sometimes sparks a new idea for arrangement of the song. I remember from our last album, that I still wasn’t sure how I wanted all of the arrangement to be on “Back Then” until the very day we recorded it.

Here’s the lyrics to one of the latest songs I’ve written which we’ve performed at our last few shows.

DELA

We woke up somewhere outside of Dela
Holding to each other and the fleeting time
We both knew that an otherwise perfect moment
Was spoiled by shame and subtle lies

There were never any promises
but things were headed nowhere fast
Still I never meant to use her
I’d of given her my best

I guess I can take the pain
God knows I would take the blame
For all the things we had to hide
I know I can take the guilt
but I can’t
Take her off my mind

Well I made this bed so that’s where I’ll lie down
another lonely night in a full house
I could dream or just confess
Wake me up when things go south

I guess I can take the pain
God knows I would take the blame
for all the things we had to hide
I know I can take the guilt
but I can’t
take her off my mind…

take her off my mind.
