Howdy Folks. I hope everyone had a good holiday. As you know by now, finals are over and we can once again return to making music. Many of you may have heard that the Red Dirt Cafe has closed for good. I am sorry to report that this is true. I will greatly miss that venue and hope that someone who loves music like Tim did takes possession of the place and has a grand reopening soon. Tim provided an avenue for original artists to ply their trade here in Norman. I know our little band would not be enjoying our modest success without clubs like the Red Dirt and the people who run them. We wish Tim and the staff from the Red Dirt the best of luck in their endeavors.

Fortunately, the Red Dirt was not the only venue for live music in Norman. We will be playing at the Deli on Campus Corner this Thursday night. I really like the people at the Deli and you can always find members of the local music scene hanging out down there. I have watched numerous great artists perform there and am looking forward to doing so myself. Come on out and let’s make our first show there a good one. It’s been too long since we’ve seen many of you.

Friday, of course, we will be playing the New Years Eve show at the newest club in Ada. We love playing there and have been eagerly waiting for the 31st to get here. We haven’t played with a full band in Ada since October. My understanding is that the new club is called C4 and is located just outside of Ada on the way to Seminole. If you need directions just email me at dameon@briarbranchroad.com.

Tonight was our first practice together since the beginning of the necessary hiatus for law school. It felt really good. The only thing that was really all that out of practice was my voice. I am kind or hoarse right now, but I’m applying whiskey as needed. Hopefully, I’ll get the ole vocal chords loosened up by Thrusday. I hope to see you then, but if not, have a safe New Years and as always….

Thanks for Lisnen,

Dameon
