SHOW CANCELLED FOR TUESDAY!
The show tommorow night has been cancelled. My apologies to everyone who had planned on coming out. I wish I could call each of you personally, but hopefully, the news will make its way around. I was told that all bands except those booked on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. have been cancelled due to poor turnouts. Evidently, people don’t want to stay around for music, and they don’t want to be bothered by live music while they eat. That’s a shame. I know Texas has a few really cool places to eat dinner and watch live bands. I also know that many of you were planning on doing just that tommorow night. Hopefully, we’ll catch you this fall.
I had a great time visiting friends and playing at my friend’s wedding (Chad and Melissa Middleton) this weekend. Somehow the nights always ran into the morning.
I’m still doing a lot of songwriting. So I thought I’d share at least one with you. It’s too bad you can’t hear the music, but if songs can’t hold up on their lyrics alone, it probably wasn’t worth writing in the first place.
UNRAVELED
(c)2005
Dameon Allensworth
Can’t say we haven’t tried
but the knot that we both tied
has become a little frayed
It’s unraveled through the years
It’s weathered many tears
but she’s holding it in place
I don’t say much these days
Just stay up way too late
watching the tv
And she slips away upstairs
but leaves the bedroom door ajar
so she can fall asleep with me
I lose myself sometimes
when I open up the wine
we keep around for company
I don’t wanna close my eyes
cause I know I’ll lose the night
and wake up to misery
[Break]
And I guess that I’d admit
that lately around here
She’s the only one who gives
I know that compromise
Is just a part of life
But it aint no way to live
I’m up late again tonight
Staring at the TV light
As it dances on the wall
When she hears the sounds below
She don’t feel so alone
that’s why she leaves the door ajar
[Break]
And I don’t wanna close my eyes
cause I know I’ll lose the night
Then I’ll have a choice to make
Cause it’s unraveled again
and if I’ll just hold up my end
We can put it back in place
Yeah it’s unraveled again
and if I’ll just hold up my end
We can put it back in place.
Thanks for Lisnen,
Dameon
