Happy Holidays!
Hope you all are enjoying the holiday season. We’re going to be playing a light schedule through the holidays and into the first part of the year. First of all, because it’s the holidays. Second of all, we’re dilligently working on our album. Thirdly, Ern (Aaron) is getting married in the middle of February. Congratulations to fancy Ern Wall and his fiance Amanda Ellis.
Becuase Travis Linville is working with us on the project, we have to keep lots of dates open so that he and I end up being free at the same time. We won’t always be able to make our schedules fit; that’s just how it has to be. It certainly helps, however, to be able to work here around Norman. That way we can record a little any time we have a free day or evening.
We are recording at Bell Labs. The owner and engineer is Trent Bell who was a member of the group the Chainsaw Kittens. Strangely, I can remember of a copy of their album making it’s way down to Rattan when I was in high school. I enjoyed their music. He’s a great guy, and is really working hard to make our project everything we’re seeking.
We have now finished recording all of the drums, bass, and most of the rhythm guitar for a full fourteen tracks. I can’t promise that all fourteen will make the final cut, but at this point in the project, I intend to release them all. Everything is sounding great. Now we just have to overdub the lead guitar and fiddle parts, add vocals. record any additional instruments we decide to use, add harmonies, mix the tracks, have them mastered, approve the artwork, and send everything to print.
Perhaps the most fun for me, is working on a trilogy that I wrote for the album. Those kind of things are always fun. On that note, I’ve got to run. I’m supposed to be recording some electric guitar here in just a little bit.
Come see us at Wall Street, and definitely make plans to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Ada over to the C4. As always….
Thanks for Lisnen,
Dameon
P.S. Not that you give a damn, but I haven’t been to the moving pictures lately.
